ATP Masters 1000 – Miami

The №3 seeded Grigor Dimitrov reached the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami.

The Bulgarian star had the opportunity to rest in the first round, because of his high seed in the main draw. In the second round Grigor enjoyed a pretty difficult win in two sets against the German Maximillian Marterer.

After beating the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the first round, Marterer faced Grigor Dimitrov in the second round. Despite of being a clear favourite for the win, Dimitrov had some difficulties against the German. After all, he achieved a win in three sets – 4-6 6-2 6-1, which allowed him to continue to the next round.

Losing the first set to Max Marterer was a huge surprise by Dimitrov. After winning the ATP finals in London in the end of the last year, the Bulgarian is still trying to find his best form on the court. In the first set we saw him having some doubts about himself, but in the next two sets he was merciless towards Max Marterer.

In the third round of the competition Grigor Dimitrov will face the Frenchman Jeremy Chardy.

In the first round Chardy faced the Brazilian Rogerio Dutra Silva. He had a tough second set, but after all he enjoyed a 6-3 7-6 win over the South American.

In the second round Jeremy Chardy had to meet his popular countryman Richard Gasquet, who rested in the first round. Despite of being an underdog in the match, Chardy celebrated a win in two sets over Gasquet – 7-5 6-1.

The winner of this game will have a tough test in the fourth round of the Miami Masters. He will have to face the winner from the match between Milos Raonic and Diego Shwartzman.
