Barcelona – Inter Milan
It’s going to be a spectacle at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, because Barcelona hosts Inter Milan in a match from Group F of the Champions League. Both teams are chasing their first wins in the competition for the season. But who will take it?
Barcelona had a tough visit to Borussia Dortmund in their first game in the group stage. Despite of being outperformed by the German side, Barca managed to win a point after a 0-0 draw. The big hero for the Catalans was their goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who saved a penalty kick of Marco Reus after the halftime break.
Los Cules already made some mistakes this season and they don’t look even close to their best shape. Now the manager Ernesto Valverde has additional problems, because Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Ousmane Dembele are recovering from injuries. The young star Ansu Fati is also out for the hosts, so Valverde will have some problems with picking his line-up.
On Saturday Barca enjoyed their first away win for the season, beating Getafe with goals from Luis Suarez and Junior Firpo.
Inter Milan were huge favourites against Slavia Praha in the first round of the group stage, but surprisingly the game at the San Siro ended with a 1-1. The Nerazzurri were actually pretty close to losing this game, but Nicolo Barella saved them with an equalising goal in the injury time. Before this Peter Olayinka put Slavia ahead.
It was surprising performance, because Inter Milan are really impressive since the beginning of the season in the Serie A. In six games played in the league so far, Inter have won six times. Antonio Conte started really well his time as Inter Milan manager.
It’d be interesting to see how Barcelona will do without Leo Messi in this game against a very tough Inter Milan side. The Italians are looking like a completely different team since Antonio Conte’s arrival, despite of their dissapointing draw against Slavia Praha.
