Denmark – Belgium
Denmark hosts Belgium at the Telia Parken in Copenhagen in a match from Group 2 of League A of the UEFA Nations League. How is this game going to finish? We don’t know, but let’s preview it in the next few paragraphs.
Denmark celebrated their qualifying for the Euro 2020 after a pretty good campaign. The Red Dynamite finished second in Group D of the qualifiers, just one point behind the group winner Switzerland. The Scandinavians were actually the only unbeaten team in the group with a record of 4 wins and 4 draws. That’s a solid performance from Kasper Hjulmand’s team.
Denmark played their last official game in November when they visited Dublin and made a 1-1 draw against Republic of Ireland. Martin Braithwaite scored Denmark’s only goal in the game and this goal was enough for the Scandinavians to qualify for the Euro 2020.
Belgium were absolutely incredible during the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign. Roberto Martinez’ team did something incredible. The Red Devils won 10 games out of 10 and conceded just three goals in 900 minutes of football. This is not something you see everyday.
Many pundits believe that Belgium are among the favourites to win the Nations League and we can’t agree more. If they repeat their performance during the qualifying campaign, they will be among the best teams in the competition. There’s no doubt about that.
Just like Denmark, Belgium played their last game in the competition in November when they achieved a spectacular 6-1 win at home against Cyprus. This Belgian team looks really hard to beat and it’s not a coincedence that their last loss came almost two years ago.
That’s what we can tell you about the Nations League game between Denmark and Belgium on Saturday. The Red Devils are the favourites here and we don’t think somebody would argue with us on this one.
