Football News –Sampdoria – Milan

Sampdoria hosts Milan in a match from the 6th round of the Italian Serie A.

We can say that both teams are performing strongly since the start of the new campaign. Sampdoria are still unbeaten after four games played. Because of their postponed match with Roma, they have one game less than the others. Their record so far is two wins and two draws. They are 8th in the league standings with 8 points.

Sampdoria won their first two games for the new season, but now they in a run of two consecutive draws – against Torino and Verona. Both of these matches were played away from their home.

As for Milan, Enzo Montella’s team looks much improved compared to the last season. The reason for that, of course, is the huge summer spending. Milan paid a lot of money for new players and now the teams looks stronger than before. The Rossoneri suffered a bad loss against Lazio in the third round, but they reacted well with two consecutive wins. In the last round Milan beat SPAL with 2-0 at home.

Right now Montella’s team is 4th in the standings. The club’s ambitions are clear – return to the Champions League. If they continue to win on a regular basis, just like they do now, this goal could be really realistic for them.

Sampdoria can’t use the injured Dodo for this game, while the goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano is still doubtful with a knee injury.

As for Milan, Vincenzo Montella can’t use the injured Andrea Conti, while Riccardo Montolivo, Luca Antonelli and Gabriel Paletta are doubtful for the match because of different injuries.

Mian might look like a favourite here, but you should have in mind that Sampdoria are still unbeaten in the league. Plus, they will have the home ground advantage here, so be careful.
