Leipzig – Borussia Dortmund

We have all reasons to expect some great football when RB Leipzig host Borussia Dortmund at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday. Two of the best German teams are going head to head and it looks more than promising. Let’s take a look at it.

RB Leipzig are entering the 15th round of the Bundesliga from second place in the standings. Julian Nagelsmann’s team have 31 points won which puts them two points behind the leaders Bayern Munich. At this moment the Red Bulls look well positioned to chase another finish in the Top 4, so what they must do is just keep performing like this.

What’s impressive is the fact that RB Leipzig lost just one game since the beginning of this season – against Borussia M’gladbach. In terms of current shape Leipzig are hitting a strong shape – they are unbeaten in their last five matches and they won three of them. In their last one the Champions League 1/8-finalists had a visit to Stuttgart whcih they won with 1-0.

Borussia Dortmund are another team which is currently enjoying a place in the Top 4. Die Borussen are 4th in the table with 25 points, but just one point ahead of the 5th Union Berlin. With two losses in their last five matches, Dortmund are not really as convincing as they would like to be.

Borussia Dortmund are giving their best right now in the absence of their main star in attack Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker is currently injured, but even without him the team achieved a win over Wolfsburg last week. The game at the Signal Iduna Park ended with a 2-0 win for the hosts. Manuel Akanji and Jadon Sancho scored after the halftime break.

That’s our preview for the Bundesliga fixture between RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. This is an exciting derby between two of the best German teams at the moment. We expect some fireworks!
