PSG – Real Madrid
Can PSG do it? This is the big question before their Champions League 1/8-final second leg against Real Madrid tonight. The first leg in Madrid ended with a 3-1 win for Real Madrid, which moves the Spanish side very close to the 1/4-finals. But PSG’s fight is not over. They know very well that a 2-0 win in Paris will allow them to qualify for the next phase of the competition.
But the French side have to deal with the absence of the most expensive player in history – Neymar. The Brazilian maestro got injured during a Ligue 1 game and he’s missing the big game tonight.
Now PSG’s manager Unai Emery has to decide how to deal with the absence of Neymar. Many people are asking who could replace him in the starting line-up. A big favourite for this role is the Argentine international Angel Di Maria, who scored some important goals this season. Another option is his countryman Javier Pastore, who is also awaiting his chance to shine. But the truth is that only Emery knows who will fill Neymar’s boots tonight.
For Real Madrid the Champions League this season is more important than ever. The Los Blancos already lost their chances to win La Liga and Copa del Rey, so the Champions League remains their only option for a major trophy this season. For the manager Zinedine Zidane it could be the only chance to remain in the club.
After defending the CL title last season, Real Madrid will try to become the first club to win the trophy three consecutive times. One thing is for sure – they are not lacking any motivation to do it.
We shall see a great game between PSG and Real Madrid tonight. The French club is in a bad situation, but nothing is lost for them just yet.
