PSV – Tottenham
PSV welcomes Tottenham Hotspur in a Champions League match from Group B of the competition. Let’s take a look at it.
There’s something similar about these two teams right now. It’s the fact that they both are without a single point since the start of the competition. They are in a tough situation right now and if they want to continue fighting in this tournament, they must aim to take something from this game.
PSV kicked off their Champions League season with a heavy 0-4 defeat against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. This loss was followed by a 1-2 defeat against Inter at home. Pablo Rosario opened the score for the Dutch team, but Inter turned the game around with goals from Nainggolan and Icardi.
Just like PSV, Tottenham lost their first two games in the group. First they suffered defeat against Inter in Milan. This loss was followed by a thrilling game against Barcelona at the Wembley, but lost with 2-4. Harry Kane and Erik Lamela scored for Spurs against Barca, but it was not enough for Mauricio Pochetitno’s team.
Both teams are aware that if they want to do something significant in this group or at least take the 3rd spot, they must start winning some points. We can say that both sides have a lot of quality, but they didn’t have enough luck to win some points so far. Maybe now it’s the moment for this?
That’s our take on the Champions League game between PSV and Tottenham in the city of Eindhoven. Surely PSV have the home advantage here, but Tottenham have a very solid team which is capable of beating anyone. It won’t be easy for Mark van Bommel’s PSV, but the Dutch team also have enough weapons which they can use.
